50 Electronic Avenue

Description

50 Electronic Ave in Port Moody is a mixed-use and multi-family development delivered in two phases, consisting of two 6-storey wood-frame buildings with 358 units, seven CRUs, and one level of underground parking. The complex also includes many facilities such as a co-working space, a yoga studio, a fitness facility, a childcare area, and many other sought-after amenities.
The envelope boasts a unique mix of Hardie plank, Hardie panel, brick masonry veneer and architectural steel. And the two buildings are “W” shaped so that each unit has courtyard sun exposure. To accommodate this, the internal space was optimized by using 68 different floor plans across the two phases. The building structure was monitored by constant surveying to prevent any negative movement towards the CP Rail/Skytrain or the adjacent Metro Van Sewer Line. The complexity of this build is managed with a meticulous planning and collaboration process including frequent team meetings to discuss the scope, plan sequencing, review drawings, and anticipate any issues. Kindred utilized Procore Project Management Software to optimize communication and project management between all the parties involved in the project.
Since the completion of Phase 1, 50 Electronic is a finalist for the 2023 Havan Awards and winner for 2023 Georgie Awards for Best Multi-Family Low Rise Development - Up to 6 stories.
