Tseqwtsúqum̃ is a Nation-led, purpose-built mixed-use development on Lil̓wat Nation’s traditional territory in Function Junction, Tseqwtsúqum̃ (Chek-choo-koom). Designed to support year-round workforce housing and long-term economic growth, the development represents an important investment in the Nation’s community and future.
Spanning three buildings, on a 5-acre parcel of land, and approximately 84,311 sq. ft., Tseqwtsúqum̃ will deliver 72 rental homes, including 24 one-bedroom, 40 two-bedroom, and eight three-bedroom units, alongside approximately 25,000 sq. ft. of ground-floor commercial space. Building B will also include an underground parkade, while the broader development will accommodate a future gas station and convenience store. As part of the supporting infrastructure, a new intersection at Millar Creek Road and the highway will be jointly undertaken by Lil̓wat Nation and the Province of British Columbia.
Developed in close collaboration with Lil̓wat Nation and the design team, the project brings together modern residential and commercial amenities with an approach that reflects the cultural heritage, environmental context, and values of the Nation.
As the largest project undertaken by the Lil̓wat Business Group to date, Tseqwtsúqum̃ reflects the Nation’s growing capacity to lead meaningful economic development on its traditional territory. Its first phase focuses on infrastructure, commercial development, and housing, helping address the region’s workforce housing needs while creating opportunities for long-term Indigenous and non-Indigenous employment.
