Talent Acquisition Lead

Reporting into the People and Culture Department, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for leading the full cycle of recruitment process at Kindred Construction. Kindred Construction is experiencing consistent growth and are looking to add a Talent Acquisition Specialist to our People team.

The successful candidate has a sense of urgency and is a proactive individual with a can-do mindset. This individual uses creative tactics to attract, source, and proactively network with candidates with the intent to develop long-term relationships in the Construction industry.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for roles in multiple departments, participate in recruitment strategy meetings, qualify candidates, facilitate debriefs and ensure candidate follow up
  • Takes full ownership of fostering a welcoming, and supportive candidate experience
  • Innovates unique and effective sourcing techniques to identify new and emerging talent for site and office recruitment
  • Conducts initial screening of applicant pools and phone screens with pre-screening questions and interviewing guides
  • Participates in
  • Creates job descriptions and utilizes community and institutional job boards, company career pages, and organizations to expand selection pool
  • Coordinates interviews and facilitate the hiring process with our relevant managers
  • Collaborates with People and Culture team to train and coach managers on effective interviewing techniques
  • Collaborates with Marketing team to enhance sourcing strategies and candidate attraction through employer branding initiatives, search engine optimization, and social media recruitment
  • Takes initiative to learn about industry competitors and innovative talent attraction strategies
  • Oversees interview scheduling and communication of feedback following interviews, offer-letter creation, and verbal offer discussions
  • Communicates clear expectations to all candidates and Management regarding Company recruitment process, position approvals, and timelines
  • Provide assistance to P+C team with tasks related to immigration and relocation pertaining to non-Canadian candidates.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • 2-3 years of experience in agency or corporate recruitment experience, with preference given to Construction-related industries
  • Knowledge of interviewing best practices and techniques in the Construction industry with proven record of recruiting candidates in competitive labour market
  • Strong understanding of compensation strategy and the skilled labour market
  • Proficiency and strong understanding of Canadian and provincial employment law and regulations, ensuring adherence to current Employment Standards and Human Rights legislations
  • Must be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Relationship management and conflict resolution skills are required
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems required
  • Expertise in sourcing candidates on LinkedIn Recruiter
