Site Superintendent – Custom Homes

Kindred is seeking a Custom Homes Site Superintendent to work under limited supervision to complete a single-family residential project in Squamish, BC. With support from the Project Manager and General Superintendent, the Superintendent oversees site safety, quality, and execution of schedule milestones while building a strong relationship with the client.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up Site office and establish positive relationships with affected business’ and/or people, neighbors, and local trade contacts
- Manage and direct all site personnel
- Read and interpret plans and specifications, provide clarification to site employees and trade contractors
- Manage and resolve all site related issues; coordinate and manage modular unit delivery, assembly and finishing
- Direct work of all trade contractors, establish schedule, workflow, and priorities through the use of effective scheduling
- Develop scopes of work and details for purchase orders, change orders or back-charges to trades
- Monitor budget spending and advise on cost overruns and cost savings
- Source site supplies and rental tools and use in-house tool rental function
- Record daily site reports, timesheets, and job progress photos
- Coordinate inspections and occupancy permits
- Assist with the development of a competent and efficient construction site team by recommending the employment of qualified applicants and identifying when current site staff need additional training
- Participate in weekly and/or monthly consultant/client/trade meetings
- Maintain COR level of safety on site and promote Kindred’s safety program
- Other duties as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Dedicated to quality and service with supervisory experience on projects from $5M up to $20M.
- Work well under pressure, juggling multiple responsibilities with numerous interruptions
- The ability to move throughout the jobsite, including climbing stairs and working at heights from ladders of scaffolding in order to perform construction related work is required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Project and email communication
- Self motivated, detail oriented, and organized
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team management
- Current with all construction and building codes, standards, and regulations
- Strong local contacts for qualified sub-contractors
- Hold, at minimum, Level 1 Occupational First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one
Salary: $100,000 – $130,000 annually
