The Gateway Theatre is a community performance arts facility owned and maintained by the City of Richmond. This extensive renovation to the aging facility included an envelope rehabilitation, minor structural upgrades, mechanical and electrical upgrades, and updated theatre lighting. Kindred also replaced the fire and life safety systems, updated finishes, and performed hazmat abatement.

Many of the upgrades were carried out throughout the key public areas, offices, and studios. Therefore, construction activities were carefully coordinated to minimize disruptions to the day-to-day operations of the theatre.
